A day among the natural wonders of Iblean, its monuments, its museums and the excellent food.

The Oriented Natural Reserve of Pantalica and the Anapo Valley is certainly one of the most evocative places in the Iblea area, where the millenary presence of Sicilian man is witnessed. Here nature explodes in all its magnificence with the very rich vegetation present, the Anapo and Calcinara rivers that flow gently into the valley, along the ancient route of the Syracuse – Vizzini railway and create a unique place of extraordinary beauty.

We continue with the visit of Sortino , a town rich in history, which before the 1693 earthquake stood on the coast above the Guccione River; with the reconstruction the town was enriched with valuable palaces and wonderful churches in the Baroque style.

The visit to the permanent exhibition of the Sicilian cart “RIO” allows you to admire a splendid collection of carts of the best school of Catania, which highlight the path of the cart over the years and the pictorial themes represented in the paintings (chess).

The visit of the House Museum of traditional beekeeping “A casa do fascitraru” will live the emotion of visiting an authentic and intact beekeeper “putia”, a fascinating environment that allows you to dive into the past. Along the museum you can admire the tools to build the hives, the fascetri ca ferra, with the ferula. Potbelly jars, used to preserve the sweet honey of orange blossom, millefiori or thyme, which fill the environment with an intoxicating scent.

The production of honey and pizzolo a durum wheat focaccia stuffed with vegetables or meats, a true gastronomic delicacy, still remain the most authentic traditions of the city.
