We meet at the starting point and pedal along quiet country roads with rolling hills, among olive groves, vineyards, grain fields and orchards.

The first stop is Vendicari, where we leave the bikes at the entrance and explore this nature reserve on foot; there are salt pans with flamingos and other migratory birds, an old tuna fishery and a beautiful beach, all surrounded by typical Mediterranean vegetation.

We continue by bike on country roads to Marzamemi, a picturesque fishing village, now a popular summer tourist destination. Time for lunch and the excursion ends here, alternatively it can be extended to the southernmost tip of Sicily – Portopalo di Capo Passero – where the two seas meet; Ionian and Mediterranean.
