The Festival of Morgana, an international review of Opera dei pupi and traditional and contemporary theatrical practices, was born as the “Review of Opera dei pupi” in 1975 and is the oldest event dedicated to the traditional Sicilian puppet theater. Always committed to promoting the Opera dei pupi in its entirety and variety, it welcomes the entire patrimonial community and constitutes the first and most lasting context of synergy between the various companies from all over Sicily, often present in the complex programs of the event. Having become the Morgana Festival in 1985, over time it accentuates the desire to explore the theatrical and artistic creativity that the Opera dei Pupi still nourishes today in the field of visual arts, technology, and literature, giving voice to contemporary needs and opening the doors of a vast and varied horizon.

After the provisions of the new Dpcm, the Festival launches a message of hope by setting the programming dates already now: from 4 to 13 December, both in the presence (limited number, in compliance with the anticovid rules, and with compulsory online booking) in streaming, accentuating its greatest vocation: that of sharing.
In this embrace of the whole of Sicily, in fact, shows will be staged in Palermo but also in Acireale, Alcamo, Messina, Syracuse, Sortino, Terrasini in an event that recovers its ancient vocation.

In compliance with the anti-Covid rules, reservations are required for each event until all places available in each place are exhausted to guarantee social distancing.
