A journey through the traditions, stories, flavors and atmospheres of Mediterranean street food and beyond. All this is Stragusto, the Street Food and Markets Festival that rekindles the Fish Market square in Trapani.

The goal of “Stragusto”, an initiative organized by Trapani Welcome in collaboration with the Pro Loco Trapani Centro and with the patronage of the Municipality of Trapani is to recover and enhance the great heritage offered by street food producers, real artisans of taste, which pass on the culinary tradition of their area from generation to generation.

Every day, from 27 to 31 July 2022, the event offers an ideal path where taste, culture and traditions are intertwined. Among the specialties that characterize the gluttonous itinerary of the event: typical trapanese, abruzzese, florentine, catanese, messinese, ascolane, the inevitable Palermo street food that this year will also have meusa, panelle arancine. Among the tasty novelties there are also the specialties based on porchetta from black pigs of the Nebrodi, and Mexican cuisine.

There will also be other particular specialties such as boiled octopus or sardines a beccafico, the flavors of the holidays, the traditional granita made by hand with the Madonita technique, the delicious yellow melon and the sweets of the Torronificio delle Madonie.

The wine tasting will be held again this year, in an exceptional location a stone’s throw from the square: the walls of Tramontana, a terrace with a breathtaking view of the Trapani sea. Participants will be able to carry out tastings of various labels from some of the most prestigious wineries, led by experts in the sector.
