We also had the wonderful opportunity to take part in the Infiorata di Noto, the famous annual flower festival. These recent visits were undoubtedly among the most extraordinary moments of our month!

Risen from the Ashes
This captivating beauty is the direct result of an architectural triumph. In the 17th century, a devastating earthquake destroyed the original city. The citizens rebuilt Noto completely, using a special local limestone.
Today, walking along the main street feels like standing inside an open-air theater. Grand staircases rise before aristocratic residences. On Palazzo Nicolaci, the intricate carvings of mythological creatures leave travelers completely enchanted. It is a place that truly leaves every visitor speechless.
The Infiorata di Noto
Noto’s flower festival began back in 1980. It was born from a beautiful creative collaboration between local artists and the master flower designers of Genzano di Roma. It takes place every year in May and is a joyful welcome to the spring season. The festival originally traces its roots to the local tradition of Corpus Domini celebrations.
Every spring, Via Nicolaci transforms into a breathtaking living canvas. Local artists and passionate citizens spend the entire night tracing the designs. They use millions of fresh flower petals to paint intricate tapestries across the pavement.
It is truly a grand celebration of community, art, and the beautiful season. Watching these fragrant petals come to life was an unforgettable sensory experience. We fell in love once again with the spirit of this city.
