Discovering the white gold of the Madonie: La Manna “The nectar of the Gods”
Buy now »
Manna, considered “The nectar of the Gods”, is the white gold of the Madonie.
It is a crystallized and sugary sap that is extracted starting in the spring season from the Ash tree, now a Slow Food Presidium.
This ash sap, with numerous properties, is collected exclusively in the Castelbuono countryside.
In fact, there we will meet Mario in the field, a young manna producer, who will explain and show the different extraction and harvesting techniques.
Between historical ideas and anecdotes, he will also illustrate the various uses of manna, delving into its benefits from medicine to cosmetics or pastry making.
A unique experience that will allow you to immerse yourself in this tradition, which has now almost disappeared in the rest of southern Italy, which survives thanks to very few enthusiasts.
