The Mayor of Novara di Sicilia has instructed Filippo to organize a special edition of the famous Maiorchino Tournament, in order not to lose its tradition.

During the tournament, the citizens of Novara di Sicilia engage in a spectacular competition where they roll a wheel of cheese (Il Maiorchino) through the streets of the town.

Citizens of Novara di Sicilia you are called to set up and take part in the Tournament! Filippo is waiting for you and don’t worry about the hat to participate, it’s ready for you!

Filippo, will immerse you in historical and food and wine traditions, discovering his country, its inhabitants and you will e involved in taking part in the famous Maiorchino Tournament.

Program:

• Meeting with Filippo and introduction to the company
• Discovering the secrets of the production of Maiorchino cheese, at a local dairy farm, with tasting of typical products
• Knowledge of the tournament path, walking through the streets of the town,  and meeting with the locals
• Exploration of the Ethno-anthropological Museum where a wheel of Maiorchino tournament cheese is kept
• Simulation of the Maiorchino Tournament
• Meeting with the councilor inside an ancient mill, and demonstration of what was learned during the day
• Celebrations with a typical local dessert, the “Jditu d’Aposturo”
