Pantalica , identified with the legendary Ibla, is a natural fortress of the late Bronze Age and was explored by Paolo Orsi between the late 19th and early 20th century. About 5000 tombs were estimated at the site, many of them gathered in the 5 main necropolises: North, North-West, South, Cavetta, Filiporto. These excavations provided important evidence on the chronology of the prehistoric and protohistoric people who lived there.
Ferla , one of the most beautiful villages in Italy, is configured with a visit to its churches and palaces, fine examples of the Baroque period. We continue with a visit to the “House of Memory”, a permanent parish exhibition, which exhibits much of the sacred movable property of the 7 churches of Ferla.
We continue with a visit to the city of Canicattini Bagni , a city of Liberty and music, which represents a unicum for the spread of this floral decorative architectural style of the early 1900s. In the beautiful historic center, the nineteenth-century churches, the crypt of the Chiesa delle Anime Sante and the original urban nucleus with the first church of the village stand out. Finally, a visit to the Tempo Museum which was founded in 2000 and is located in the historic Palazzo Cassarino; is divided into three sections:
– The section dedicated to Textiles is made up of exhibited artifacts that are the result of female industriousness;
– The section dedicated to Emigration is the work of the research center on the migratory phenomenon;
– The section of folk medicine, with didactic panels and ancient tools, offers the recipes and remedies of the aromatherapy and apothecaries, who were the healers of the past.
